Exploring the ideology of "Red" or communism is Darsono's driving force in carrying out all his political activities. Darsono's entire political activities came to a halt when he was exiled to the Soviet Union by the Dutch East Indies government in 1925. The concept of communism ideology became the basis for the practice of newspaper propaganda carried out by Darsono. The teachings of communism also influenced Darsono during his time making Sarekat Islam a political vehicle as well as influencing the change of the Sinar Djawa Newspaper to Sinar Hindia. Darsono, in the midst of the transition of the newspaper, emphasized that in the teachings of communism as a propaganda medium to foster political awareness to realize the context of oppression and encourage the creation of the unity of the oppressed group.
